Orientation to Careers in Health Sciences

Introduces students to the skills which are necessary to achieve their academic goals, to services offered at the college and to the discipline in which they are enrolled. Covers topics such as services at the college including the learning resources center; counseling, and advising; listening, 测试以, and study skills; and topical areas which are applicable to their particular discipline. This course is specifically for students who wish to pursue a career in Health Sciences.

Medical Terminology I

Introduces the student to the language used in the health record. Includes a system-by-system review of anatomical disease, 以及操作条款, 缩写, radiography procedures, 实验室测试, and pharmacology terms. 第一部分或第二部分. 

Substance Abuse: Prevention and Treatment

Explores the use and abuse of drugs in contemporary society with emphasis upon sociological, 生理, and psychological effects of drugs.

Ethics for Health Care Personnel

Focuses on ethical concepts of health care. Emphasizes confidentiality, maintaining patient records, 个人形象, professionalism with patients/clients, 的同事, and an awareness of health care facilities.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Provides training in coordinated mouth-to-mouth artificial ventilation and chest compression, 令人窒息的, life-threatening emergencies, 突发疾病. Equivalent to EMS 100.

Surveys career options available to students. Stresses career development and assists in the understanding of self in the world of work. Assists students in applying decision-making to career choice. 

Student receives AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR certification

Eligible to take the Work Ethic Proficiency Certification Exam

Medical Terminology II

Continues with focus on the language used in the health record. Includes a system-by-system review of anatomic disease, 以及操作条款, 缩写, radiography procedures, 实验室测试, and pharmacology terms. 第II部.

Explores the basics of general pharmacy, reading prescriptions, 符号, 包, pharmacy calculations. Teaches measuring compounds of drugs, dosage forms, drug laws, and drug classifications. 第一部分或第二部分.

Provides practical experience to supplement instruction in 261年停止–262年停止. Should be taken concurrently with 261年停止–262年停止, in appropriate curricula, as identified by the college. 第一部分或第二部分.

Coordinated Internship: 药学技术人员

Supervises on-the-job training in selected business, industrial or service firms coordinated by the college. Credit/practice ratio not to exceed 1:5 hours. 五月 be repeated for credit. 变小时.
